The Bad Seeds

Scott and Kennath stumbled around the corner and lurched down the road.  Everyone stayed clear of them.  We always did.

They had Brain Rot.

Overall, our little community is pretty peaceful.  We all mostly keep to ourselves, go about our business.  We work together when we need to.  Help each other when we have to.  But overall, we keep to ourselves.

Except for the ones with Brain Rot.

When it comes to them, we all have each others’ backs.

They’re unpredictable.  And I guess that makes sense, since, well, their brains are rotting.

Most of us have rot somewhere you can see.  Them?  They look fine.  That’s the first sign of it, actually.  Everyone rots somewhere.  That’s just how it is.  It usually starts in the extremities, so people can see it.  So if you can’t see the rot, you can pretty well guess it’s in the brain.

Stay clear of those guys.  Trust me.

We have people like me…it’s in my left hand.  I can pretty well get by.  I’m lucky.

Arthur, it started in his eye.  For him, we know it will move to his tongue eventually, and for a Storyteller, that’s the worst.

For the ones where it starts in their brain?  There’s not much to be done except avoid or contain.  The rest of us, no matter where it rots, how much it hurts, how frustrating it is to not be able to do our normal things…At least we think straight.  We’re still us.

How are Scott and Kennath going to cause trouble for Zach and his friends?  Leave your ideas in the comments…

I don’t think they’re going to cause trouble at all. They may seem like it at first, being completely disruptive, chaotic and unpredictable, but that will be their strength int he end – they’ll be like kamikaze pilots – Zach will send them into the library ahead of him, and they will create enough of a diversion that he’ll be able to sneak in and get The Book (having been told where it is by the girl from last week).

    Zombie library rampage – cool!

Dang, Jennie. I can’t wait to get started playing with this idea! Zach might be skeptical, but I bet he’ll come around. Brilliant! 🙂

Thanks. I’m surprised at how fun this is! I’ve been focused on a couple other things the past couple of weeks, and can’t wait to hang out with the zombies again next week.
